There are many reasons why a flexi leash is not suitable for dogs!

1.are uncertain. Sometimes the stopper doesn't work. For example on a street when a car comes and the dog jumps onto the street.

If you guide the leash loosely with the stopper and then let go of the button, the band snaps back suddenly. The dog feels all of this on its body - in the worst case, on its neck.

5.can send dogs running. If the box falls out of one's hand, he rushes after the dog; and he will usually run away in panic.

6. lead to leash pulling. The dog learns: if I want to go somewhere, I have to pull. This makes walking on a normal leash very difficult.

7.are not insured. Some pet owner liability insurance policies do not recognize retractable leashes as real leashes (correctly, due to the high risk of damage). So if the dog is being walked on the Flexi in the dark and a cyclist rides onto the invisible leash, the insurer may not promise cover due to negligence/own fault. And the dog would certainly be injured in such an incident.

Many of the situations develop rapidly without any action on your part. And after all, you are not only endangering yourself, but also other dogs and people.

The good news if you can't let the dog loose and still want to give him some freedom: there are alternatives to the pull-out leash!
